Diabetes Study Partially Halted After Deaths

An article in the NY times mentions a study that has been partially halted due to the findings that there were 54 more deaths in a group whose blood sugar levels have been kept lower than those that were not.

I am not going to go into who said what and what was said, but basically, the researchers were shocked!

It was noted that everything they have always believed was shot down, considering that it was believed that lower blood sugar led to less issues of heart disease, etc.

So, lets piece this apart.

We know:

Diabetes, or elevated blood sugar, type I or type II, is proven to often be a toxicity or infection of the pancreas.

If we are lowering blood sugar levels only without treating the cause, (i.e.-blood sugar lowering drugs, or even nutrients) than we are only treating the effect, NOT the cause.

So, if someone has elevated blood sugar, and there is a weakness, infection or toxicity at the pancreas or related organ, and we are only “ushering” the sugar out of the blood by a variety of ways WITHOUT strengthening, detoxifying, or treating the infection, than we are fooling ourselves that we are doing good.

This I have to say is exactly what happened in this study.

What we also have to ask is, what med’s were the individuals on?  If the group with the lower blood sugar were on chemical medications that the body treats as a foreign substance, or cause drug induced nutrient depletions, could we guess that it was the medications that led to the larger number of deaths?  Possibly.
