The Columbus Effect in Health Care

Some 500 years or so ago, Christopher Columbus was arguing with the Queen of Spain that the world was round and not flat. 

To prove this point he got a few ships, some deckhands and set out to prove himself correct.

Now, at this time, the whole world generally believed that the world was flat and you can sale right off the end of it.  That is a pretty wild belief, believed by many…and totally incorrect.

What beliefs in regards to health are thrust upon us that are totally incorrect, but only spread by mal-interested parties?

How about beliefs on healing, what is possible, if we are diagnosed with a disease is this a death sentence? 

How about vaccinations?  Are they fallable, can they cause harm?  Do they even work?

There is not enough research to prove nutrition works!  This is a statement I have heard conveyed a number of times..have you?  Who has said this?  Have they done their research, and for that matter, if the are a health care professional, how often do they research studies, I mean research, not just reading the abstract.  Thats like getting through college on cliff notes, yes it will get you buy, but you never can pull out the essence or in the case of research studies, the truth of what lies within.
