Marketing and The Media…Only the Products have changed

So, we were sitting around talking about the slew of pharmaceutical company advertisements that are on TV these days.  I know this is nothing new to you.  What we began to realize is that Pharmaceutical Advertising has taking the place of Cigarette commercial advertising.

Why did they stop cigarette advertising?  Because they said that they were targeting children thus increasing the chances that children would begin smoking.

Hmmmmmmmm?  What do they think these pretty pharmaceutial commericals are doing?  Maybe conditioning children to think that prescription medications are the way to go?

On top of this we recently saw a commercial warning parents to keep their medications away from their children.  This is all well and good, though it was prime time when the children were watching the tv….kind of giving them the idea maybe?
