Obese People Twice as Likely to get Alzheimers

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

A study just recently published out of Britain has linked a connection between obesity and dementia. The article makes comment of an obestiy explosion in Britain (once again taking on Americas bad habits) and the root of it being a fondness for fast food and reistance to excercise.  They continue to make note that people overweight at the age of 60 are twice as likely to get dementia at 75.The article states that the mecanism of how obestiy affets the brain was unclear but it encompassed diet, excercise and physiological effects.  Research has shown that people who eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables have an up to 40 percent reduced risk of developing dementia, and excercise as a similar effect.

Aside form this article, numerous studies have linked free radical attack to dementia. What is a good source of anti-oxidants (the good guy’s who quell damaging free radicals)? Fruits and Vegetables.  Most people who consume a diet high in vegetables and fruits dont have a weight problem either.  So we can assume that diet, excercise and supplentation might be the link.

If you would like a measurement of your oxidative stress, make an appointment at HAPPY for a biophotonic scan, and if you are looking for a nutrient that has been known to quell every free radical known to man, a true anti aging supplement—-we have that too.

Aspartame–The Taste of A Chronically Ill Generation

Friday, August 10th, 2007

A new long-term animal test from the Italian cancer institute fortifies the questions on the safety of aspartame.  The FDA is being requested to immediately review this study which found increases in lymphomas, leukemias, and breast cancers in rats.

Now, to know that aspartame is already responsible for the most complaints to the FDA, we can only hope that a controlled study will shut off their pockets from the food industry.

Via the works of Dr Russell Blaylock, Dr HJ Roberts, and countless other practititioners and consumers, it is quite apparent of the harm that this simple sweetner can do.

Whether the FDA decides to do anything about it, we as consumers can make the decision and stop buying it.  After all, most people who stop diet soda’s with aspartame in it end up loosing weight as a result.  Not to mention the deleterious effects on our health that it can have.

Lastly, read your ingredients, it is everwhere, gumm, candy, juice, etc—and please avoid sucralose as well—-more on that later–
