Sex Problems and Anti-Depressants

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

One of the most common side-effects to anti-depressants are problems with sex.  Nearly 40 percent of women who take certain anti-depressants experience sexual side effects such as decreased desire and difficulty reaching orgasm.  And this 40 percent represents those who open up about this.

Cooked Foods Lead to Less Life

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Since 1800 when cooked foods became more prevalant, it has cost us 1/3 of our life span since we do not have the digestive enzymes to break the food down.

This can be linked to the increase of stomach diseases, pancreatic diseases, gallblader, liver and more!

Lesson learned, digestive enzymes withe EVERY cooked meal.

Chronic Illness Aint Slowing Down

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

In 1900 less than 5 % of the U.S were chronically ill….In 2007, 50%!!!!!!! Are chronically ill.

So what is happening?  Diet, environmental toxins, industrialization and dissemination of natural food sources, and a victim mentality thought pattern stemming from issues of self esteem that is growing viral over our society.

New Study–Key Danger Zones of Health in 43 Major U.S. Corporations

Friday, September 28th, 2007

A new health study, reported on Yahoo news gave the Key Danger Zones of Health found in reports from 43 Major U.S. Corporations.
The #1 Health Risk reported is Poor Nutrition!
Poor Nutrition 68.3% Vehicle Safety 37.0% Body Fat 35.8%
Stress 33.8% Physical Fitness 22.0% Cholesterol 21.7% Blood Pressure 20.6%
Alcohol 12.8% Personal Safety 11.7% Tobacco 10.3%

The study concluded that “Vitamin and nutrient deficiencies are associated with extremely
common problems such as fatigue, anxiety, and difficulty losing weight.”

This is a very interesting finding, not suprising though.  It is well known that nutritional depeletions are at an extremly high level in our society, having an effect on almost all known dis-states.  What is alarming and often times NEVER addressed is the amount of DRUG INDUCED NUTRIENT DEPLETIONS.  Sounds like great further training for all medical personnel, doesn’t it?

Another interesting point, nutrient depletions can have an effect on at least 7 of the nine other danger zones noted above.  Although, if someone was to get in an accident while driving and eating fast food, we could make it a strong 9 out of 9!

Fatty Livers- The Next Epidemic Due to The Standard American Diet?

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

As a follow up to Dr. Topouzians article on adding healthy protein to the daily meals, as well as other articles we have posted on hidden sugars, insulin resistance and diabetes, we would now like to bring light to a recent study that is suggesting that there is a corresponging increase of fatty liver disease with obesity and type 2 diabetes.

This study, published in the September issue of the jornal Obesity, is the work of Dr David Ludwig, director of the Optimal Weight for Life program at Children’s Hospital Boston, and collegues.

This study suggests that a diet rich in carbohydrates with a high glycemic index (GI) not only expands waistlines but may also lead ot fatty liver, a condition that results in liver failure and death.

Fatty liver is becoming especially common among children, said Ludwig.  Although many adult cases can be caused by alcoholism, that is not so in children, where between 1 in 4 and 1 in 2 overweight American children are thougth to be affected by non-alchoholic fatty liver disease.

That means millions of children are at elevated risk of getting full blown liver disease in adulthood, said Ludwig, who called it a “silent but dangerous epidemic.”

People, if we need any more confirmation on what the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) is doing to the health of our society, this should do it.

Do we really have to wait until we can call these things epidemics?  Lets make the changes now!

Who were Dr. Harvey W. Wiley & Dr. Elmer Nelson, & why should we care?

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

For our first post under the heading “shocking facts” we would like to share with you a bit of the history to our FDA.

You have probably heard of Dr. Royal Lee.  Royal Lee was a pioneer research in the nutritional sciences and whole food vitamin supplementation.  His work has never been scientifically refuted and anyone who seriously undertakes the study of vitamins today corroborates Lee’s work.

Where Lee was a brilliant researcher and scientist, Lee felt the heat of the FDA.  Through history, the nutritional industry has often steared in the direction of big pharma(the drug companies).  Were whole food nutrients have historically been grounded in science for their positive effects on the body, isolation of nutrients has had the monetary pull, the direction that almost all of the nutritional companies have gone.

Now, keep in mind, many isolated nutrients are created by big pharma and sold to the independent nutritional companies.  This gains an almost unspoken protection from the FDA for isolated nutrients.

A man like Dr Royal Lee ruffled many feathers with his research and outlook on whole food nutrients, even to the point that he was ordered by a court to burn all of his records of the last twenty years.

What does this have to do with Dr. WIley and Dr. Nelson?

Before the FDA became the FDA, it’s precursor was the Bureau of Chemistry.  Up until 1912 the Bureau of Chemistry was headed by Dr. Harvey W. Wiley, a proponent to whole food nutrition.  Dr. Wiley was quoted, “No food product in our country would have any trace of benzoic acid, sulfurous acid or sulfites or any alum or saccharin, save for medical purpostes.  No soft drink would contain caffeine or theobromine.  No bleach flour would enter interstate commerce.  Our foods and drugs would be wholly without any form of adulteration and misbranding.  The health of our people would be vastly improved and the life greatly extended.  The manufactureres of our food supply, and especially the millers, would devote their energies to improving the public health and promoting happiness in every home by the production of whole ground, unboldted cereal flours and meals.”

Dr Wiley, this proponent for real foods and quality of health even filed suit against the Coca-cola company in an attempt to keep their artificial product out of interstate commerce, and off of the market.

Here is where the transition and transformation from the Bureau of Chemistry to the FDA began.  Dr. Wiley was then replaced at the helm by a Dr. Elmer Nelson.
As you will read below from Dr. Nelson’s own words, he had a little different outlook in regards to nutrition, and in my opinion, reality for that matter.  Dr Nelso once stated,”It is wholly unscientific to state that a well-fed body is more able to reist disease than a poorly fed body.  My overall poinion is that there hasn’t been enough experimentation to prove that dietary deficientcies make one susceptible to disease.”

This my friends I dont even to believe to be ignorance.  This is the exact hidden malicious behaviour that has been sculpting our dinner tables and medicine cabinets for almost a hundred years.

It is this type of mentality that has trained many of your health care practitioners today, and this is exactly why we need to take responisbility for our own health.
